What is Hawkstone Hall?
Hawkestone Hall a grade-I listed building, stowed away in the Shropshire countryside, was restored by its owners The Distinctly Hospitable Group. With origins dating back to the 16th Century it was built 550 years ago as a stately home, but has since been re-purposed as a luxury hotel and spa.
Multi-million pound makeover
Surrounded by 88 acres of private gardens, the stunning location features elaborate gold ceilings, twinkling chandeliers and antique furniture. Initially kept within the Shropshire Hill family, then later used as a monastery in the 1900’s, the mansion has been a hidden gem for most of its lifespan. However, once it was purchased by The Distinctly Hospitable Group in 2017, they embarked on a multi-million-pound renovation project. Under the watchful eye of head designer Kay Petrouis, the premises was transformed into a hospitality venue for the wider public.
A Luxury foundation
FLR were proud to be an integral part such a huge project and worked very closely with the clients from the onset. The carpets featured across the hotel were entirely bespoke designs, supplied by Brintons. We worked hand-in-hand with Brintons throughout the process and went on to fit over 1000 square metres of carpet, within the venue. Hallways, suites and staircases we’re carefully laid by some of our most experienced fitters, to provide a luxury foundation that would stand the test of time.
Our fitters and wider team particularly enjoyed seeing and being a part of the entire process. From renders and designs, to being a fully functioning and restored venue, Hawkestone Hall represents the beauty of new beginnings, whilst still maintaining its traditional origins.
